About me
|
I have made my income from art and design for over 35 years since leaving college and I have enjoyed every minute of my working career.
After studying at Bournemouth College, I became the first full time designer for a well-known giftware company in Dorset and began their first art department. At 21 I moved to East Anglia to become a graphic designer and at 23, set up Maui Waui Design, which I still run now and produce graphics, illustrations, logos and websites for many companies (large and small) mostly in East Anglia but also worldwide. I also write and perform songs - mostly country blues with my musical buddies as another hobby. |
Becoming a sculptor
I have always loved and bought jewellery but never really wore it and ended up with a large collection.
I also am passionate about recycling and especially the idea of making something desirable out of unwanted objects. I had a watch with a broken strap and realised the strap could be the tail of a dragonfly. I thought I would try to make one and see if my idea would work - and here is the result!
I then made the bird with worm and that was the start of my creative obsession!
